I narrowed the date here because the earliest event is Damuddy's death. There is no event that precedes this. It happens between events 2.14 and 2.16, because in 2.14 the Compson children are climbing the hill and at 2.16 they have arrived in the back yard. Amazingly, Faulkner provides us the missing frame in Quentin's section.
