Jefferson Courthouse and Square in "Miss Zilphia Gant" (Location)

The county courthouse sits in the center of Jefferson, and at the center of many of Faulkner's fictions. It is where Zilphia and the house painter are "married by a justice of the peace" (377). And as throughout Digital Yoknapatawpha, the square around the courthouse which is part of this location is also used to locate events that take place in unspecified places in town.
