Jason goes to where Uncle Job is and orders him to work faster. While Jason is in the back "helping" Uncle Job, he opens the letter from Caddy. A check that is six days late falls out of the envelope. Earl yells at Uncle Job. Jason puts down the letter to go "put some life into" Uncle Job. He rants about how soft the blacks have it.
