Preflight Training Camp in "Knight's Gambit" (Location)

After enlisting in the U.S. Army Air Corps, Charles is sent to a "preflight" training camp (252). The text gives no indication of where this is. During World War II, the U.S.A.A.C. established training fields throughout Mississippi, including a major one at Columbus, Mississippi - which is where we speculate that Charles was sent.
