This is the man whom Doom refers to as "a French chief in New Orleans," the man who indirectly gave him the name Doom (348). In other fictions this man is identified as a scapegrace named Soeur Blonde de Vitry, who has an aristocratic title, though a minor one, "Chevalier." In this story we only know what Doom says about him.
