Frenchman's Bend in "By the People" (Location)

Frenchman's Bend is "the densely populated southeastern part of the county" that is run by Uncle Billy Varner but best known in the Yoknapatawpha fictions, many of which are set there, as the origin of the Snopes family (88). This icon represents the location of events in the story that take place "in the Frenchman's Bend section," without being connected to any particular place in that section (89).
