Although the events are obscure, in all likelihood this is the moment that Benjy is castrated.
I placed this after the conversation between Jason Sr. and Jason about the gate on page 52. I imagine they have this conversation right after the incident and then get Benjy castrated. It's hard to imagine them taking Benjy for an "emergency" castration right after the incident.
