Benjy interrupts Caddy and Charlie on the swing. The sight upsets him and he starts to cry. Frustrated Charlie tells Caddy to send Benjy away. When Caddy refuses Charlie continues his advances, to which she desperately replies, "He can see. Dont. Dont." She manages to extricate herself by promising Charlie she will come back, but she and Benjy run to the kitchen together where Caddy washes her mouth out with soap.
