Biography:

At his murder trial, Bill Terrel tries to blame his son for the crime. This son both denies the charge and "proves an alibi," resulting in his father's conviction (59).

Note:
Bill Terrel's son is mentioned in a small but telling moment in Bill's trial. In an attempt to create reasonable doubt, Bill basically sacrifices his son. Bill claims that the murdered man was trying to seduce his daughter, and his son actually killed the man. Both children deny the story, the son provides an alibi, and Bill faces the censure of both his children and the court.
