BR: Horace is picked up at Kinston train station by a taxi driver. Horace is dropped off near his house and enters through the back entrance. His wife, Belle, is already there reading a magazine in bed. Horace asks Belle where Little Belle is, and she tells him that she is at a house party. Horace goes to the hall to phone Little Belle and has a brief exchange with her, which she cuts short.

Summary: 

Horace is driven home from the Kinston train station by a former plantation owner turned cabby who tells him that he drove Belle home earlier that day. They briefly discuss Goodwin's lynching.
