Erin Kay Penner

Erin Penner is an Associate Professor of English at Asbury University and a former Postdoctoral Visiting Research Fellow at the Rothermere American Institute, University of Oxford. Her interest in modernist mourning is evident in Character of Mourning: Woolf, Faulkner, and the Novel Elegy of the First World War, from the University of Virginia Press. Her recent work concerns African-American literature of mourning, as well as the widespread social effects of trench talk after the First World War.
