Jock goes down the street to Jones's office to gain permission to use the airfield, leaving Ginsfarb to attend to getting handbills printed at the newspaper office. Ginsfarb gives his handbill, titled"'Demon Duncan: Daredevil of the Air," to the newspaper editor to print within an hour. The crowd that has gathered in the office ask Ginsfarb whether he was in a war, which he denies. The crowd also ask to see his flying license; Ginsfarb tells them it is nailed to his airplane, but refuses to go out to the airfield to prove it to them.
