Photo Gallery: Unidentified Places in Mississippi

The five 19th century photographs here were taken by William Henry Jackson, for use by the Detroit Publishing Company in its line of photos of picturesque American places. The last seven were taken during the Great Depression by photographers working for the Federal Writers' Project, for use in their book about Mississippi, subtitled A Guide to the Magnolia State - part of the "American Guide Series."
