Notes:
Jason attacks Luster, takes the reins, and whips Queenie. Jason threatens to kill them if they cross the gate with Benjy again. Benjy cries louder and louder until Queenie starts to move.
Summary:
When Luster starts to turn an unfamiliar way around the monument, Benjy is horrified. His bellowing brings Jason to the carriage, where he forces the horse to turn around and tells Luster to "Get to hell on home" (320). As the carriage heads back from the square, the familiar pattern of shapes comforts Benjy and he hushes.
