Jason hits his head on the rail and the show leader hauls him to the station platform. Jason thinks he is bleeding and had been hit with the hatchet. The show leader tells him he is fine and that the woman and man with the red tie are not there. The show leader tells Jason he kicked them both out and that he runs "a respectable show, with a respectable troupe." Jason accepts this answer and the man tells him to go home to Jefferson.
