After Temple relieves herself in the woods near the barn, she notices "the squatting outline of a man" (91). Because Ruby has said that Goodwin won't be back yet and Goodwin almost immediately enters the house after Temple does, we identify the man as Goodwin, although it's possible the man is a stranger. SR: I think the squatting indicates it's Tommy, so I made that change.
