Sanctuary, 58 (Event)

Ruby has an affair with a man called Frank. Ruby's brother threatens to kill Frank, but Ruby's father takes control, locking his daughter in and going down to the bridge to wait for Frank. Ruby climbs down the gutter and heads Frank off to tell him. Frank refuses to leave, and they both go up to the house in Frank's 'yellow buggy' (58) so Ruby can pick up a suitcase and run away with him. Ruby's father is waiting for them on the porch. He tells Ruby to get out of the buggy, which she does. Frank gets out of the buggy too and walks up the path to the house. Ruby's father gets out a shotgun and shoots Frank, despite Ruby trying to get between Frank and the gun. Assuming this is Ruby's first romance and that Horace is right when he says she's not yet thirty (17), we date Ruby's birthdate in 1900 and her first romance at age 16.
