Date:
Monday, May 27, 1929
Notes:

While Arnold and Trouard cite this date as May 28 (adding three days to Virgil and Fonzo's arrival on May 25), Faulkner seems to have counted that day as their first in Memphis (194); this would make the third day May 27 and the twelfth day, when they go to their first brothel, June 5. Arnold and Trouard do cite June 5 as that fateful day.

Summary:

When Virgil and Fonzo leave for the barber's college on the third day of their stay, Miss Reba asks them if she can use their room for business in the afternoons.
