Photo Gallery: Mileston, Belzoni & Lexington, Mississippi

Belzoni (where the first 3 photos below were taken) is on the Yazoo River, while Lexington (the location for the next 3) and Mileston (the remaining photos) are both on tributaries of the Yazoo. All three towns are in the Delta and within 35 miles of each other.  These photographs were all taken by Marion Post Wolcott, who was working for President Roosevelt's Farm Security Administration, an agency that employed a number of photographers to document poverty and agricultural practices in the Depression era.
