Notes:

Note: In this event we have another time note that refers to the problematic 14th chapter of this book. Apparently, by June Essie Meadowfill is pregnant and has "won the wheelchair" Gavin gave her at the wedding in less than two months. Since the earliest she could have gotten married would have been late March or early April, she would not know that she was pregnant till late May. Yet, even this date is seems somewhat problematic. Still, given that there is no clear indication that Essie announced her pregnancy in June, the previous timeline has been maintained. JB

Summary:

Chick goes to see Ratliff about the odd relationship between Gavin and Linda now that she "has done run out of injustice." Ratliff reveals ominously that "When she finally thinks of something and tells him, he will likely do it" (397).
