James B. Carothers
James B. Carothers is Conger Gabel Teaching Professor of English at the University of Kansas, where he has taught since 1970. Author of William Faulkner's Short Stories (1985) and co-author (with Theresa M. Towner) of Reading Faulkner's "Collected Stories" (2006), he was, with John T. Mathews, Founding Co-Editor of The Faulkner Journal. His teaching/publishing interests include Hemingway, the Modern American Novel, Comedy and Humor, Shakespeare, and the literature of Baseball.
