Summary: 

Eck and Buck guide the herd of ponies to the gate of the lot behind Mrs. Littlejohn's. As Eck opens the gate, the herd sees the fence for the first time and reacts accordingly. They pull back, and Eck resumes the reins with Buck brandishing a black-snake whip in order to drive the herd through the gate.
