Summary:

Ike continues his account of history as the unfolding of a divine plan. He speculates that "He" arranged for "the white man's blood" to replace the Indians on the land as the way to "raise the white man's curse" and "set at least some of His lowly people free" (246). Ike then speculates on how that "blood" might require "three generations" to succeed - though without explicitly identifying himself as the third generation of McCaslins in Yoknapatawpha (246).
