Photos of Crystal Springs

Crystal Springs is in southwestern Mississippi; it was slightly smaller than Oxford in the first half of the 20th century - the time when these pictures were taken. They were shot by Luther Myles Hamilton, Sr., a local professional photographer.  As the work of a native of the place, these photos offer a different perspective on the state than the images made by the photographers who were visiting Mississippi and recording the effects of the Great Depression for the Farm Security Administration.
