CUT: It would seem that his son has come to equal loss for Judge Allison. He fears if he gives up that loss, he will essentially have less than nothing
Summary:
Judge Allison visits the site of his son's grave and what will become his own burial place beside him. He takes paradoxical comfort in the thought of those graves: "if I could believe that I shall see and touch him again, I shall not have lost him. And if I have not lost him, I shall never have had a son" (796).
