Summary:

A cryptic passage that seems to be the novel's first reference to the fact that Charles Bon is Sutpen's son. While telling Quentin that Sutpen named all his children, he mentions "the one before Clytie and Henry and Judith even" (48), adding that his children with "two exceptions were girls" (48). Compson's apparent awareness of Bon's relationship to Sutpen at this point in the narrative contradicts his account in the next several chapters. [SOURCE: Father]
