Biography:
On his way to the delta in 1940, Ike remembers the men with whom he first traveled to the same road: "the young men who could drive all night . . . and pitch a camp in the rain . . . and rise at daylight the next morning and hunt" (319). This group is probably the generation between the older men he hunted with at Major de Spain's camp, and the current generation of young men, whom he is traveling with now.
